Family Portraits at Inn By The Sea | Cape Elizabeth, Maine

This session from the very end of summer was a favorite of mine. I really loved that mom and I laughed and joked on the phone that we were so tired we had no idea where anyones clothes were. This trip was the last weekend before school started and mom just wanted to have some fun portraits of the kids and where they were at right now.

I chatted with the kids and they were hilarious. I had them run, sit on the picnic table, and logs, throw rocks into the ocean, and generally just be silly. They were just so sweet and fun. I always like to make sure that kids have plenty of time to really play and relax. When kids enjoy themselves their smiles are genuine and they remember the session as fun instead of stressful! It helped that mom was so laid back and knew that her kids were best when not forced to do canned smiles. Her mellow demeanor kept everyone happy!

The Inn By the Sea is a beautiful place to stay. The boardwalk that leads to the ocean is so charming! And when you are done with the day you can sit by the fire and roast marshmallows. Summer doesn’t get much better than that.

So while it is fall and I am still catching up on al my blog posts from summer I am enjoying the memories of all the beautiful families and fabulous backdrops Maine has to offer us.
