The girls wanted to play dress up in the studio today 😍👏 🌙✨

Bringing women back to themselves. One woman at a time. I build relationships with women. I LISTEN to them. I SEE them. I want to know what their vision is for our work together. I want to know the ways that they’re insecure. The parts of their body that they love. The stories that they’ve lived. All of these elements get captured in a portrait. They all matter. Because YOU matter. You make an impact on the world every day. When was the last time you celebrated yourself? And I’m not talking about that pair of shoes or piece of jewelry that you just gifted yourself. Those are important things to do as well. But when was the last time you really looked at yourself and saw ...Powerful? Soft? Radiant? Gorgeous? Joy?
We live in a world of selfies and instant gratification. Everything comes quickly. My sessions take time. To unpack. To get to know each other. To relax in front of the camera. A gift for many years to come. 💫

11 years ago today this magical nerd arrived. You are a sharp wit and pure joy. And I love every minute with you Charlie AKA Chicken Little.

Let’s talk about RECEIVING. This week was actually a very difficult one. Despite it being my birthday I had a window broken out of my car and I was sick all week. My daughter’s birthday is exactly one week after mine and this was the weekend of her birthday and of course I wanted to make sure it was still special. But I was really sick. So Friday, through tears, I texted my friends to ask them to help me. I needed a cake because I had called around and couldn’t find one. And I needed someone to help me take my house apart. Moving my dining room table out and setting up the space for a sleepover as well as bringing in a TV and a DVD player since I don’t have either of those.
Charlie’s birthday weekend was awesome. But my favorite part was lying in my bed and listening to one of my close friends and my daughter laugh together while they hung up streamers for decorations. It does take a village to raise a child and while it was hard for me to step back and not celebrate in the way that I wanted to, the real gift was in knowing what an amazing friend family I have. They stepped in and had the chance to bond with her in ways that wouldn’t of happened if I was there. They took her shopping and to get balloons. They showered her with love. Because I asked. And they wanted to. They told me that they were thrilled to help. I think this is a lesson for all of us. I wanted to share this as a reminder to all of you out there to ask for help when you need it. I know that I would give my help in a heartbeat to anyone who needs it. But I’m not always the best at receiving. I hope I’m a little bit better after this weekend. Thank you again Brooke and Heather for being hero’s. I am eternally grateful.
